We're looking for a Deputy Visual Merchandiser to own the visual storytelling across our regional store network for Madame. You'll blend creative execution with operational rigor — designing seasonal displays, auditing brand consistency, training store teams, and turning VM performance data into actionable improvements. This isn't a desk job: you'll be on the ground 3-4 days a week ensuring our windows and in-store experiences drive sell-through and brand love.

What We're Really Looking For

Personality Fit
The Operator/ The Builder

This person is a get-it-done creative who translates brand vision into flawless on-ground execution. They don't wait for perfect conditions — they improvise with what's available, train teams to sustain standards after they leave, and systematically build VM consistency across a region. They're energized by seeing a mediocre store transform into a brand showcase, and they measure success in both aesthetics and sales lift.

You'll thrive if you…
  • Forensic eye for brand inconsistency — A mediocre VM notices obvious issues (broken mannequins, dated signage). A great one spots subtle brand dilution — wrong hanger spacing, off-brand color palettes, or a mannequin outfit that doesn't reflect the current campaign. These micro-details compound into brand erosion or excellence across 20+ stores.
  • Ownership without authority — They don't manage store staff directly but must influence regional managers, train teams, and hold people accountable for VM execution. Passive coordinators fail here; effective ones build respect through expertise and follow-through.
  • Sell-through mindset, not just aesthetic ego — Beautiful displays that don't move product are expensive art installations. The best VMs obsess over which displays drove conversions, which mannequin outfits sold out, and iterate based on data — not just what looks good in photos.

Why Join Us

Madame (Jain Amar Clothing) is a leading women's western wear brand with a rapidly expanding retail footprint. You'll have real creative latitude to shape regional VM strategy, work directly with buying and marketing on launches, and see your work translate into measurable sales impact. We're not a rigid corporate environment — we value people who take ownership, move fast, and aren't afraid to challenge the status quo when a display isn't working. If you want to build your career in fashion retail with a brand that's scaling thoughtfully and investing in its VM craft, this is the stage to do it.

Qualifications

Must have

  • Minimum 3 years of visual merchandising experience in fashion retail, preferably women's western wear or contemporary fashion
  • Proven track record of executing window displays, in-store styling, and seasonal themes across multi-store environments
  • Graduate or Diploma in Fashion, Visual Merchandising, Interior Design, or related field
  • Demonstrated ability to travel extensively within assigned region (3-4 days per week, including overnight stays)

Preferred

  • Experience working with a national or regional fashion brand with established VM guidelines
  • Prior exposure to training retail staff or conducting store audits
  • Familiarity with VM budget management and vendor coordination

Technical Skills

Must have

  • Commercial visual merchandising principles (traffic flow, focal points, color blocking, storytelling)
  • Fashion styling and trend interpretation for retail environments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, basic data analysis)
  • Microsoft PowerPoint (creating VM reports, presentations for management)
  • Store layout and fixture planning
  • Photography or visual documentation for audits and reporting

Optional

  • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) for basic design mockups
  • Retail analytics or POS data interpretation
  • AutoCAD or SketchUp for space planning

Who You Are

  • Comfortable giving direct feedback to store managers and regional teams on VM execution gaps
  • Strong project coordination across buying, marketing, and store ops without formal authority
  • Thrives in ambiguity — can design a compelling display with limited props or last-minute brief changes
  • Self-directed time management across multiple stores and competing priorities
  • Translates creative ideas into clear, actionable instructions for non-VM store staff
  • Resilient to travel fatigue and comfortable working independently on the road
  • Data-informed decision-making — uses sell-through metrics to iterate on display performance
  • Assertive negotiation with vendors and suppliers within budget constraints
