This is a build-from-scratch opportunity at a new PEB manufacturing plant, not a maintenance role. You'll be the CEO's operational right hand on the factory floor — owning the entire production cycle from raw material receipt to final dispatch, establishing production rhythms, enforcing quality discipline, and creating systems that will carry the company through 2–3x growth. This role exists because informal coordination across supervisors is no longer sufficient as the project pipeline scales.

They don't need motivational speeches — they earn respect by catching quality issues everyone else missed, optimizing production sequences that save hours, and ensuring the floor operates with zero tolerance for shortcuts. Day-to-day, they're 70% on the floor diagnosing bottlenecks and holding supervisors accountable, 30% in data mode — updating trackers, analyzing wastage patterns, and presenting cold facts to the CEO every Friday. They measure success in dispatch adherence percentages and rework rates, not in being liked.
- Catches systemic patterns in one-off failures — The difference between fixing a single weld defect vs. identifying that a particular welder consistently has porosity issues on overhead joints (which becomes a training/supervision fix) — this trait prevents the same quality issue from recurring across multiple projects and reduces rework rate from 8% to under 2%.
- Comfortable making unpopular decisions under time pressure — When a dispatch deadline is 24 hours away and a supervisor wants to skip shot blasting to save 4 hours, or a client is pressuring to ship members with marginal dimensional tolerance — this person must be able to say no, absorb the pushback, and defend the decision with data. Weak resolve here leads to site rework and client trust erosion.
- Obsessive about closing feedback loops — Production tracking is worthless if data doesn't drive action — this person must instinctively close loops: if wastage spiked last week, they've already diagnosed why and adjusted nesting patterns; if a supervisor missed the morning briefing twice, there's a conversation happening. Qualifications
Must have
- ◆B.Tech or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (production/manufacturing specialization preferred)
- ◆3–7 years of hands-on experience in PEB or structural steel fabrication manufacturing (not EPC contracting — must have owned a factory floor)
- ◆Proven experience supervising 50+ factory workers (fitters, welders, helpers, crane operators)
- ◆Strong ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings (shop drawings, GA drawings, connection details)
- ◆Willingness to work in high-accountability, fast-paced environment with occasional weekend work during dispatch crunches
Preferred
- ◆Experience with CNC beam line machines (Ficep, Peddinghaus, Kaltenbach, or similar)
- ◆Exposure to Tekla Structures or similar BIM/detailing software
- ◆NDT Level II certification or familiarity with UT/MPT testing
- ◆Experience in ISO 9001 or ISO 3834 certified manufacturing environments
Technical Skills
Must have
- ◆Reading and interpreting fabrication drawings (shop drawings, GA drawings, connection details, BOMs)
- ◆Hands-on knowledge of welding processes (MIG/MAG/SMAW)
- ◆CNC and manual cutting, drilling, grinding operations
- ◆Surface preparation and painting processes (shot blasting, manual cleaning)
- ◆Production planning and sequencing for steel fabrication
- ◆Material nesting optimization to minimize wastage
- ◆MS Excel for production tracking, MIS, and reporting
- ◆Quality inspection protocols and NCR management

- ◆CNC beam line machine operation and programming
